Blogging is similar to dating. If you dress in a style totally opposite your own or pretend to love skydiving (when it really scares you to death), you may attract the attention you're looking for. But none of your relationships will last; because they will be shallow. The same thing happens when you try to copy the style of a popular blogger. Your blog may attract some attention in the beginning, but you won't gain any long lasting followers.
