Create a Blog That Will Appeal to Advertisers

    Category:

Advertisers are companies who advertise on your blog for a fee. Acquiring advertisers with a product related to your blog niche is a great way to monetize your blog. Because there is an unlimited supply of blogs in the blogosphere, the competition for advertisers' attention is fierce. Here are some ways to make your blog appeal to the advertisers you want to reach:

    1. Catch their eye. Put a banner on your site that says, "Advertise with Us". Set the banner up so when someone clicks on it, it directs them to a page with Advertising information and provides a form to contact you for more questions or rates.

    2. Only host ads on your site that are related to your niche.

    3. Post banners that say, "This space could be yours". Put these banners up in the space an advertiser would receive if they choose to advertise with you. It will give them an idea of what type of advertisement they are getting for their money and where their ad will be located on your blog.

    4. Make your website stats visible. This will communicate to advertisers if your blog is successful and the potential for advertising with you.

    5. Don't leave out the, "About us" section. This will be enjoyable for readers to look at, but even more important, it is your resume for advertisers. If your purpose and message relates to their company or product, they may decide to advertise with you. Be clear about who you are and what the purpose of your site is. Give your background information that explains what makes you an authority on your topic and why people would want to read what you have to say.

    6. Stay on topic. If you write about a multitude of things, you won't be a match for any advertisers. If you stay on your topic, you will appeal to advertisers related to that subject.

    7. Act like a professional. Would you swear or make crude jokes in a job interview? I doubt it! That would kill every chance you have of getting the job! Writing in an unprofessional manner will also drive potential advertisers away and make them never look back.
