Written On Tips for Becoming a More Creative BloggerCategory:
1. Change your environment. Avoid blogging in the same place all the time. Blogging in different spots will keep things fresh and keep you more open to new ideas. Take the laptop to Starbucks one day. Take your laptop in the backyard and blog while sitting on the grass. Blog in the park. Blog at the dining room table, or for a really wierd blogging environment, try blogging in the bathroom! (I doubt you'll try the last suggestion more than once!) Eventually, you will the find the environment where you have the most blogging success. 2. Leave things a mess. Have you ever noticed creative types are usually messy? People who are neat freaks are usually uptight. We all know being uptight stifles all creativity! So, leave the kitchen a mess until after you're done with your blog post. Blog in the room where your one year old daughter has pulled out every single one of her toys and some of your things, too! Are you wondering what the benefit is to being a slob? Working in a messy environment allows more of a chance for coincidence, and coincidences lead to odd thoughts which can develop into blog post ideas. 3. Connect blogging with your every day life - Try to think about and focus on your blog while you're doing every day tasks, like vaccuming or running an errand. Your brain will find ways to associate these individual tasks with blog topics. (This means new ideas!) While laying out in the sun and being pestered by a threatening bee, my mind started comparing personal situations to the possibility of being stung. The result was a very inspirational blog post! 4. Discuss your blog - Have you ever noticed the random things that pop into your head during a conversation? How many times have you said, "Sorry, this is completely random, but...."? Talking stimulates the creative parts of your brain. As you discuss your blog, keep a pen and paper nearby. You will probably find yourself having many "ah-ha" moments and interesting ideas for new things to do with your blog. 5. Give yourself a break. Working on your blog all day or for a few hours at a time means your creativity may run out of battery! Take a break, do something totally unrelated like exercise or take part in another one of your hobbies. This will allow you your creativity to recharge. 6. Read often. Read books. Read other's blogs. Reading other enjoyable material sparks your own creativity!
